Local credit cards are issued by the leading department stores Falaballa and Ripley, as well as other closed-loop networks.

28% Debit Card (WebPay): Historically, there was only one local card acquirer in Chile: Transbank. Transbank has developed a widely used online payment portal, WebPay. As a result of its ubiquity, debit represents 28% of Chilean e-commerce payments.

8% Bank Transfer (WebPay): Bank transfers, via WebPay, represent 8% of Chile’s e-commerce spend.

7% Cash: Cash payments represent a smaller portion of e-commerce spend in Chile than in most other Latin American countries, but it’s still a payment option that shouldn’t be ignored. Cash-based invoices are issued by a payments network, such as Servipag or Multicaja, and payable at physical stores across the country.

2% Other Methods:

  • Digital wallets, ATM payments and other methods represent 2% of Chile’s e-commerce volume.


Payment in multiple installments is common in Chile, reaching an estimated 30-40% of total e-commerce spend. Falabella, Ripley and LATAM Airlines make installments readily available to make their high ticket items more affordable.
